Jeff Mangum is a New York-based media trainer who counsels clients across a variety of sectors including medicine, technology, philanthropy and management consulting. He has helped C-suite executives, medical researchers, industry experts and financial analysts prepare for interviews with Bloomberg News, CBS, CNBC, NPR, The New York Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and specialty publications ranging from American Banker to Medscape. He also prepares clients for presentations at conferences, corporate meetings and government hearings.
Before establishing his own consultancy in 2014, Jeff served as a Senior Vice President at Hill & Knowlton, where he provided training and crisis communications guidance to the firm’s leading clients. He has worked with hundreds of executives throughout the U.S., as well as in Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East and South Asia. Jeff has contributed to specialty publications such as the PRNews Media Training Guidebook.
Prior to joining H&K in 2000, Jeff covered IBM and wrote national business stories that were distributed to newspapers across the country, including USA Today. He also served as an editor of The Journal News, a regional publication in the northern suburbs of New York City. He is the recipient of several professional awards, including a first- place award for continuing coverage from The New York State Associated Press Association and an award of excellence for distinguished breaking news coverage from The New York Newspaper Publishers Association.
Jeff began his career at The Tampa Times and later worked for The Clearwater Sun and The Tampa Tribune. As a journalist in Florida, Jeff served as a guest interviewer for the NBC affiliate in Tampa and has been both a speaker and a moderator at various panel discussions.
